When you notice that your bed is infested with pests, the first thing to do is to take steps to get rid of them as soon as possible. The longer you wait to react, the more difficult it will be to resolve the problem. Another thing you need to know is that fighting bed bugs is not a one-step process. Discover how to say goodbye to bed bugs in this article: an effective method presented from A to Z.
Step 1: Vacuuming
Start with a thorough and complete vacuuming of your home. Leave no spot or corner without vacuuming at least twice. Keep in mind that pests are more likely to stay in hidden areas. Therefore, you need to turn over all hiding places. You can also vacuum your bedding to uncover the bed bugs on the mattress.

Moreover, while the vacuuming method is effective, it does not kill all pests. It only serves to remove the bugs that are on the surface of the bed. Additionally, after you finish vacuuming, you must take care to clean the hose and attachments of the device. The bag containing the dead bugs must also be sealed before being thrown away.
Step 2: Machine Washing
After vacuuming, you must now proceed to cleaning. For this, you need to wash all bed linens and the carpet in your room. The washing should be done in the machine at 60 °C. For your information, bed bugs cannot withstand heat. It is only when you wash your bed sheets at high temperatures that you can be sure to get rid of these pests. It is advisable to iron after washing. The dryer is also recommended.

Step 3: Steam Cleaning
As highlighted in the previous chapter, bed bugs do not survive extreme heat. Therefore, it is an excellent idea to opt for steam cleaning. As for the setting, you can choose between 110 and 180 °C. The advantage of this type of cleaning is that it allows access to all the hiding places in the room. The disinfection is more or less complete.
Furthermore, before reaching this step, you need to get rid of infested furniture. Also, consider using the diatomaceous earth method.
